According to the user dobrovolskiy On May 15, 2019, as a result of human error, Yandex removed some of the virtual machines in its cloud.

The user received a letter from Yandex technical support with the following text:

Today we carried out technical work in Yandex.Cloud. Unfortunately, due to the human factor, virtual machines of users in the ru-central1-c zone, which at least once were in the SUSPENDED status, were deleted. We immediately noticed the error and stopped the deletion. Alas, some VMs and their boot disks have been removed.

As a result, some production servers were completely lost by the user. The victim had backups, but some of the data is still irretrievably lost. Yandex usually compensates for the downtime of its services, according to its policy, but who compensates for data loss?
