I have long wanted to share my script for automating the setup of Windows 10 (currently version 18362), but I never got around to it. It may be useful to someone in full or just its parts.

Of course, it will be challenging to describe all the setup points, but I will try to highlight the most important ones.

Main features

Disable diagnostic tracking services
A multitude of tweaks for File Explorer
Choose the default Windows mode
Choose the default application mode
Change the environment variable path for temporary files to $env:SystemDriveTemp
Enable additional information when displaying BSoD
Disable Windows Defender SmartScreen in Microsoft Edge
Prevent disabling the Ethernet adapter for power saving on a desktop PC
Remove all UWP applications from all accounts except
Remove all UWP applications from the system account except
Disable components
Remove OneDrive
Create a task in Task Scheduler to run disk cleanup
Create a task in Task Scheduler to clean the folder "$env:SystemRootSoftwareDistributionDownload"
Create a cleanup task in Task Scheduler for the $env:TEMP folder
Prevent standard applications from running in the background, except for
Enable controlled folder access and add protected folders
Disable custom services
Create a legacy shortcut for "Devices and Printers"
Override the location of the "Desktop", "Documents", "Downloads", "Music", "Pictures", "Videos" folders
Refresh desktop icons, environment variables, and the taskbar without restarting "Explorer"
