The service is a tool for employment. We use educational methodologies to select the best specialists for business tasks. We have gathered and categorized job vacancies from major players in the IT industry and created courses based on the requirements gathered. We have established agreements that the best of our students will interview for relevant positions. We aim to connect, hopefully, the best employers with the most motivated specialists.
We are currently running a pilot, launching our first Java course. Four more courses are in the pipeline, with plans for around 40. But at this stage, it's important for us to test our educational technology and ensure our product is of high quality.
Who are we?
We are a startup, but we’re not starting from scratch. Our team has extensive experience preparing students for work in IT production. We share our own experience gained from successful commercial projects: knowledge about truly high-load servers, genuinely fault-tolerant solutions, and proven systems of protection and user interfaces used by millions of people.
Our graduates successfully work in the best IT companies around the world. Many of them also teach.
In the requirements for a senior developer position, it is often stated: experience of 5 years or more. We have over 5 years of experience in IT education. And we intend to reach a new senior level in training specialists.
Employment?
What can a specialist expect from education? We believe, opportunities. More opportunities to create. A programmer is a profession about creating new things. And to write better and more, one needs to know how and what to write. On the other hand, to participate in the creation of truly large products, good conditions are necessary. If a programmer wants to create large products, they need a good company.
Otus.ru is a project that unites companies, specialists, and education. We work for specialists. We gather company requirements and create educational programs for specialists based on them. We work for companies. We prepare employees for them who pass interviews based on their knowledge and experience, not just interview coaching.
Our goal is to help you create projects that you will be proud of. And to assist you in finding a company that will appreciate you for it.
First Set?
The first set is always special. The most interesting things happen during this time. The course program for the first set is always the freshest. The instructor pays the most attention to the participants. Participants ask the most unexpected questions.
Of course, it takes some courage to decide to participate from the very beginning. And this bold step can bring very positive results. We took that step. We invite you to join us and receive the most attention, the freshest material, and the most opportunities.
Group?
We planned to enroll 20-30 students. We devised tests that should check those wishing to join the course and only admit those whom we can prepare to work in partner companies. We expected 100-150 specialists to pass the test.
So far, more than 300 people have successfully passed the test. And it's not just about the test. We simply have three times more registrations compared to what we expected.
We still plan to enroll students until the classes start, as promised in posts and emails. We are very pleased that you are interested in our initiative. Right now we are considering involving more instructors and seminar leaders, possibly increasing the group size or forming two groups.
How will it be?
The first class of the course will take place on April 1st. And we are confident that this is a great date to start a good initiative.
The course format consists of webinars led by the course instructor. Based on the webinar material, you will receive assignments that will be checked by the instructor and seminar leaders. All webinars will be recorded, and you will be able to refer back to the recordings at any time.
You will be able to reach out to the instructor and other students with any questions regarding the material and practical work in a specially created group for the course on Slack.
Classes will be held twice a week. Lectures will be on weekends and practical sessions during the weekdays.
For the first four months, you will study and during the fifth month, you will write a project work under the guidance of the instructor.
The top five students of the course will go through interviews with partner companies of Otus. All students receive a certificate indicating their progress in learning.
