The Polish studio Bloober Team, known for the Observer and two parts of Layers of Fear, will switch to the development of high-budget projects. This is stated in the press release cited by the resource.
The studio plans to simultaneously develop two AAA projects. The budget of these games will exceed the cost of creating previous ones, and production will take longer. Bloober Team is going to release one project of this type every one and a half to two years. They will sell for a higher price, with projected sales described as "millions" of copies.
All new games will offer a third-person view, and not from the first, as fans are used to. The authors do not plan to abandon horror, but now they want to pay more attention to the action, while at the same time not forgetting about the "psychological aspects". It was decided to make such changes after analyzing the market situation and feedback on past games. Also, the developers promise a more cinematic presentation and a variety of gameplay, involving repeated passages.
Currently, the studio employs about 110 employees. The management does not refuse to create small games, but their development will be transferred to third-party teams. This year Bloober Team will release
It is known that several million Polish zlotys have already been spent on the creation of Medium, but the costs will increase (Blair Witch cost 10 million Polish zlotys, which is about $2,6 million). Bloober Team wants to release the game on their own, without the help of a publisher. For now, it uses its own funds, but hopes to attract new investors in the future. In addition, the management announced its intention to transfer shares to the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange from the alternative NewConnect platform, where it was registered in 2011.
Bloober Team was founded in Krakow in 2008. The team became famous for the horror film Layers of Fear, released in 2016 on PC and consoles, and in 2018 on Nintendo Switch. The next game was also warmly received, the cyberpunk thriller Observer, which appeared on the same platforms in 2017 (later it was also ported to the Nintendo Switch). Released in May 2019
