CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) has decided to stop using Facebook Workspace in favor of the Mattermost open source project. The reason for this was the completion of the "trial" period of use provided by the developer corporation, which has been lasting for almost 4 years (since 2016). Some time ago, Mark Zuckerberg confronted scientists with the choice of paying money or handing over administrator credentials and passwords to Facebook Corporation, which is tantamount to directly transferring access to CERN data to third parties. The scientists chose a third option: remove everything related to Facebook from their servers and switch to using an open source solution - Mattermost.
