Microsoft and Studio MDHR announced the release of the colorful platformer Cuphead for Nintendo Switch. The project, previously available only on PC and Xbox One, will go on sale for the hybrid console on April 18.

On the same day, the game will receive a major free update on all platforms. Firstly, it will allow players to control Mugman in single-player mode. During level progression, a special composition will play, and players will be able to choose him not only when restarting the storyline from the beginning but also when continuing an already started campaign.

Secondly, all cutscenes will now be fully animated. The game will add several introductory clips for Cuphead and Mugman, enhance the backgrounds, improve the visual effects, and refine the smoke and explosions — overall, Cuphead will look even better than before.

Additionally, the patch will introduce translations into multiple languages, including Russian. The delay is attributed to the desire to select the perfect font for each language. Finally, the update will improve performance, speed up loading times in most episodes, and reduce the platformer's size on the hard drive.
