Google Tangi: A new learning app with short videos

Over the past years, YouTube has become a real learning platform, where you can find instructions and educational videos covering various topics and aspects of everyday life. However, Google developers decided not to stop there by launching a new application Tangi, through which it will be possible to share only educational videos.

Google Tangi: A new learning app with short videos

Tangi is an experimental application created by the developers of Google Area 120. It can host short video guides and instructions on various topics. Videos on the new platform are limited to 60 seconds, and content is categorized into Art, Cooking, DIY, Fashion & Beauty, and Lifestyle. The "Technologies" section is not yet available, but it is possible that it will be added later.

The format of short tutorial videos looks quite promising, especially considering that on other sites, tutorial videos can last 20-30 minutes or even more, although they could be much shorter if their authors quickly got to the point of the lesson.

However, this approach also has downsides, as it will be more difficult for content authors to accurately convey material without missing important details. As a result, it may turn out that a user who has watched a short video will still have to look for a longer and more detailed video on YouTube in order to get acquainted with all the nuances of the issue of interest.

The app is currently available to iOS device users. It is unclear why developers are ignoring their own mobile platform. Most likely, in the future, an Android version of Tangi will still see the light of day.
