The Chinese company Huawei has introduced the Kids Watch 3, a 'smart' wristwatch designed specifically for young users.
The basic version of the gadget is equipped with a 1.3-inch touch display with a resolution of 240 × 240 pixels. It features a MediaTek MT2503AVE processor paired with 4 MB of RAM. The specifications include a 0.3-megapixel camera, a 32 MB flash memory module, and a 2G modem for connection to cellular networks.
The more expensive Kids Watch 3 Pro version features a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 320 × 320 pixels. These watches are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 processor, with 4 MB of RAM and 512 MB of flash memory, and a camera with a 5-megapixel sensor. The gadget can operate on 4G/LTE mobile networks.
Both new models are protected against moisture and dust to IP67 standards. They come with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n wireless communication adapters, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver. Power is supplied by a 660 mAh battery.
The devices allow for voice calls. Adults can track the location and movements of children via an app on their smartphones.
The price of the Kids Watch 3 model is around 60 USD, while the Kids Watch 3 Pro version will cost approximately 145 USD.
