Kontron has announced a new small form factor computer from the KBox B-202-CFL series, which can be used in areas such as image processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications.
The device features a Mini-ITX (170 × 170 mm) motherboard. It can accommodate an Intel Core processor from the ninth generation, either i7, i5, or i3. The DDR4 RAM can reach up to 32 GB.
The chassis measures 190 × 120 × 190 mm. Inside, there is space for a 2.5-inch storage drive; additionally, an M.2 solid-state module can be used. It supports two PCIe x8 expansion cards or one PCIe x16 card.
Network connections are managed by a dual-port Gigabit Ethernet controller. Available interfaces include two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, a DVI-D connector, four USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, and a serial port.
The new model is equipped with an active cooling system that operates at a low noise level. It is said to be compatible with the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise software platform. Currently, no information is available regarding the estimated price of the new device.
