In mid-2018, we launched the employer evaluation service on 'My Circle' βBest Employers in IT 2018, according to 'My Circle' . We aim to establish this ranking as a good tradition and release it annually.Since the launch of the service, around 5,000 employees have rated more than 900 companies. To date, 150 companies have received public evaluations, gathering opinions from 10 or more employees. These companies are participants in our current ranking.
Employees evaluate their employers based on 12 qualities, scoring each from 1 (completely disagree) to 5 (completely agree). The average score for each quality is calculated (as a weighted average), and from the scores of the qualities, the overall average score for the company is obtained (as an arithmetic mean). We compare these overall average scores to establish the ranking.
More about the scoring system Additionally, we compare the scores of companies for each of the 12 qualities, and if a company ranks in the top three for a particular quality, we assign it the corresponding nomination.

Overview of ratings
Size matters
Now let's look at employer ratings as a whole: how a company's rating depends on its size and type, as well as what qualities are valued more in which companies.
The first thing we see: the larger the company, the lower its average rating. Based on this pattern, we divide our ranking into 4 weight categories.
When comparing companies based on individual qualities, we see the same pattern: the larger the company, the lower its average rating in any of the 12 qualities. The only exception in the quality 'Social Package' is that small companies do not have the highest average rating for this quality compared to others.
If we rank the qualities of the company by scores in each weight category from highest to lowest, we can see which qualities are valued more and which are valued less. Among the most general trends, the following should be noted:
- In all weight categories, 'Management Literacy', 'Recognition of Work Results', and 'Adequate Salary' are among the four lowest-rated qualities of the company. Meanwhile, 'Relationships with Colleagues' and 'Professional Growth' are among the four highest-rated qualities.
- In all weight categories, except for large companies, 'Comfortable Working Conditions' also ranks among the four highest-rated qualities. In all weight categories, except for small companies, 'The Company Makes the World a Better Place' is included as well. In small and large companies, 'Modern Technologies' is also mentioned.
- An interesting trend is that 'Connection with Top Management' is rated lower, while 'Social Package' is rated higher as the company size increases, which is quite logical.
Product and Outsourcing Companies
If we look separately at product and outsourcing companies, of which we have approximately an equal number in our ratings, we can draw the following observation:
- For both types of companies, 'Relationships with Colleagues', 'Comfortable Working Conditions', and 'Professional Growth' rank among the four highest-rated qualities, while 'Management Literacy', 'Recognition of Work Results', 'Adequate Salary', and 'Social Package' are among the four lowest-rated.
- At the same time, in product companies, 'The Company Makes the World a Better Place' ranks among the four highest-rated qualities, while in outsourcing companies, 'Modern Technologies' does.
The most important qualities from the candidate's perspective
What qualities do job seekers consider the most important in an employer? It turns out that for most, the most crucial qualities are 'Adequate Salary', 'Professional Growth', 'Managerial Literacy', and 'Interesting Tasks', while the least important are 'Connection with Top Management', 'The Company Makes the World Better', and 'Social Package'.
Overall, it seems that companies provide a fairly decent level of 'Professional Growth', an average level of 'Interesting Tasks', and a rather low level of 'Managerial Literacy' and 'Adequate Salaries'.
