Amid mass protests in Kazakhstan, a simultaneous loss of traffic from all fixed and mobile communication operators was recorded at 17:30 (MSK). Since yesterday, there have been issues with access, and today the blockage has spread to all autonomous systems (ASN) monitored by Cloudflare, belonging to Kazakhstani providers.
Yesterday's issues primarily affected users of mobile operators such as Tele2 and Kcell, but judging by the decrease in traffic, attempts were made to throttle bandwidth instead of a complete blockage. Today's blockage is associated with a total loss of connectivity for both mobile and fixed communication networks. In addition to halting data exchanges between users, around the same time as the start of the blockage, external operators recorded the arrival of BGP announcements indicating the cessation of routing in the networks of Kazakhstani operators.
