The Document Foundation announces the availability of the alpha version of LibreOffice 7.0 for testing and invites participation in the bug hunt organized on May 11.
Ready builds (RPM and DEB packages that can be installed alongside the stable version) will be posted in the pre-releases.
Report found bugs to the developers in the bugzilla the project.
Questions can be asked and assistance can be received throughout the day (7:00 AM — 7:00 PM UTC) in the IRC channel #libreoffice-qa or in the Telegram channel team.
Among the notable new features in version 7.0, the transition from Cairo to Skia as the default for Windows is worth mentioning. Skia can also be tried on Linux, but even the developers themselves think it won't provide much benefit compared to the Windows version of LibreOffice.
I would add: this news is more of an informational nature. There are over 700 unresolved bug reports in the project's bugzilla and more than 13,000 open issues/RFEs. Thus, the project could use volunteers for the QA team. For those inspired by altruistic impulses, a the instruction guide on entering the QA theme in LibreOffice in Russian is prepared.
