Developers from the Italian studio RuneHeads, in collaboration with 1C Entertainment, have announced the turn-based sci-fi dungeon crawler Conglomerate 451.
There is no release date yet, but it is known that it will be launched through Steam's early access program, which will happen "very soon." The release will take us on a tour of a cyberpunk world of the future, where corporations have gained incredible power. You'll have to lead a squad of clones that, on the orders of the Senate of the Conglomerate city, will head to sector 451 to restore order and fight against corrupt corporations. The area is so overrun with crime that it now resembles a battlefield.
"Create your own team, modify the DNA of agents, train them, equip them with high-tech weapons, and send the squad to the streets with a single goal—to eradicate crime and restore order at any cost," the developers explain. Along the way, you can install cybernetic implants on fighters to enhance their skills, as well as upgrade weapons and armor. All locations will be randomly generated, so each new outing into the city will differ from the previous one.
Conglomerate 451 promises elements of roguelike as well, such as permanent death for heroes. "Plan each move carefully, as every decision you make could be the last in the agent's life: if you lose a character in battle, you will lose them forever," the developers say. The mechanics of exploring the world and fighting will be similar to those in the Legend of Grimrock series and similar games—movement with a first-person view through a grid-based world.
