A new version of the minimalist distribution Alpine Linux 3.21 has been released. It includes initial support for the Loongarch64 architecture. Among the less significant changes are package version updates: Linux 6.12, KDE 6.2, GNOME 47, and others.
Alpine Linux It is built on musl libc and busybox, making it small and very resource-efficient. The container requires no more than 8 MB, and a minimal installation on disk takes about 130 MB of memory. Moreover, the distribution supports various CPU architectures, including x86_64, x86, armhf, aarch64, armv7, ppc64le, s390x, riscv64, and now Loongarch64.
Alpine is used for creating official container images Docker and is utilized in the project PostmarketOS. This distribution is also the basis for OneFileLinux by the creator of the well-known Flipper Zero.
