AMD is set to reintroduce the legendary gaming processor Ryzen 7 5800X3D under the name 10 YRS AMD AM4 Anniversary Edition. This information was shared by insider HLX, who provided some promotional materials in Chinese regarding the upcoming launch.
This could be great news for PC owners on the AMD AM4 platform who would like to upgrade their systems but can’t (or don’t want to) due to the ongoing memory market crisis, making the switch to the new AM5 platform with DDR5 memory seem unjustifiably expensive. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a very powerful gaming processor whose performance remains relevant even today.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10 YRS AMD AM4 Anniversary Edition is expected to be available for sale in the second quarter of 2026. The processor will offer 8 cores with support for 16 virtual threads, a frequency of up to 4.5 GHz, 100 MB of cache memory, and a nominal TDP of 105W. These specifications completely match the original Ryzen 7 5800X3D model (Vermeer generation), released in April 2022. Thus, this is not a Refresh version, but the same processor.
The regular Ryzen 7 5800X3D is practically impossible to find for sale, especially at its original suggested price. Initially priced at $449 when it launched, it is now rarely encountered, mostly at Western retailers like Newegg, where it is listed from $471 to $510, exceeding its MSRP.
Last month, AMD celebrated the 10th anniversary of the AM4 platform and to address complaints the long support of the current AM5 platform.
For AMD, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D model has undoubtedly become one of the most successful processors for the AM4 platform. If the company is indeed preparing a 'special edition' of this chip, it will resume shipments of processors that have largely disappeared from retail. Whether this means a full resumption of production or merely the launch of a new sales batch remains unclear.
