Arch Linux has switched to 64-bit Wine builds (WoW64).

The developers of the Arch Linux distribution announced the default build of Wine and Wine-Staging in Wow64 mode (64-bit Windows-on-Windows), enabling the execution of 32-bit Windows applications on 64-bit Unix systems. The delivery of 64-bit Wine builds has allowed the discontinuation of using the multilib repository for packages wine and wine-staging with 32-bit versions of libraries.

The reason for this change is mentioned as synchronization with modifications in the main Wine project aimed at simplifying package creation and reducing the dependency chain. Among the issues that may arise after migrating to Wow64, a decrease in OpenGL performance for 32-bit Windows programs and the need to recreate existing 32-bit Wine prefixes are noted.
