ASRock has introduced a rather unusual motherboard called A320TM-ITX, which is designed in the less common Thin Mini-ITX form factor. The uniqueness of this product lies in the fact that there have not been similar motherboards for AMD processors in Socket AM4 execution before.
Thin Mini-ITX motherboards are characterized not only by their small length and width (170 × 170 mm) but also by the minimal height of components — about 2 cm. This allows them to fit into quite thin and compact cases. Although these boards can generally be used in any computer case designed for Mini-ITX boards, it should be noted that Thin Mini-ITX boards, including the new ASRock model, expect to connect an external or internal power supply of 19V.
As can easily be guessed from its name, the ASRock A320TM-ITX is based on the AMD A320 chipset. The new model is intended for building systems based on hybrid AMD processors in Socket AM4, specifically the Raven Ridge and Bristol Ridge generations. So, why can't standard Ryzen processors be used in this model? The reason is that it lacks a PCI Express slot, and connecting a discrete graphics card for video output is not provided. The video output options include two HDMI 1.4 ports and one LVDS.
Additionally, the new motherboard has a couple of slots for DDR4 SO-DIMM memory modules oriented horizontally (similar to laptops). The maximum supported RAM capacity is 32 GB, with support for memory speeds of up to 2933 MHz. For storage devices, there is one SATA III port and an M.2 Key M slot. There is also an M.2 Key E slot for connecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules. A Realtek RTL8111 gigabit controller manages network connections. The audio subsystem is based on a Realtek ALC233 codec.
Unfortunately, the price and start date of sales for the ASRock A320TM-ITX motherboard have not yet been specified.
