It was only a matter of time before someone had sex in a car controlled by Autopilot. Last week, Taylor Jackson, an adult film actress from Los Angeles, and her boyfriend may have been the first to bring this idea to life. They uploaded their video to Pornhub, where interested viewers could see the couple engaging in various sexual activities while traveling on the highway in a Tesla vehicle on Autopilot.
Tesla has always cautiously stated that its semi-autonomous driver assistance system with Autopilot "is intended for use with an attentive driver who keeps their hands on the wheel and is ready to take over at any time," hence it cannot be considered a full-fledged Autopilot in the truest sense of the word. However, this did not prevent the young woman from taking a risk and testing Tesla's capabilities for shooting an erotic video.
"God, I made @Tesla the number one search on Pornhub," Jackson wrote in , tagging Tesla's founder Elon Musk.
The official Pornhub account on Instagram also , posting a screenshot from the video with the caption: "Tell Elon they didn't have both hands on the wheel while Autopilot was on."
Shortly after, even Tesla's founder couldn't resist responding, although his message wasn’t directed at anyone specific, the context made it clear what he was referring to.

"It turns out there are more ways to use Autopilot than we thought," Musk tweeted a few days later as the news about Taylor's video gained popularity online.
In a comment to Elon’s tweet, Pornhub jokingly admitted that it was its fault.

In a statement to Business Insider, Jackson shared that she is new to the adult entertainment scene and only recently started selling clips on Snapchat and other platforms. She and her boyfriend were on a car trip when he convinced her to have sex in the car while it was on Autopilot.
"When we finished, we joked that we made great porn," Taylor recounts. "We started searching for similar videos on Pornhub because we thought someone must have done something like this before us, but we couldn't find anything."
Although the film thrilled Pornhub users, we can only hope it doesn’t inspire imitators. While Tesla has stated that it plans to improve the autopilot feature and that accidents occur quite rarely, they have still happened, and it is still premature to fully trust this technology with our lives or the lives of others.
Taylor claims she wasn’t afraid of crashing because she had a positive experience using Tesla’s autopilot before. "However, I accidentally hit the steering wheel, turning off the autopilot," she recounts. "This happened on a straight highway, but there were many cars passing us at that moment." Apparently, the couple managed to react, taking back control of the Tesla autopilot.
In April, Musk stated that the autopilot feature in Tesla cars might soon, possibly by the end of this year, be sufficiently safe for passengers and even surpass human driving in safety. "I could be wrong, but it seems that Tesla is far ahead of everyone," said the American billionaire.
Despite this, it's unlikely that the company will publicly approve the use of autopilot without additional human oversight in the near future. Especially over such an extended period as demonstrated by the young couple in their video. But Jackson claims that if such an opportunity arises again, they will likely consider filming a sequel.
"The feedback has been great, and the comments are mostly very funny," Taylor says. "Looking at it now, I feel like we could have made the video better. Maybe we’ll do another one."
