More than two years ago, a bug report was opened in Gnome GitLab stating that scrolling in GTK applications with a touchpad was either too fast or too sensitive. 43 people participated in the discussion.
GTK+ maintainer Matthias Clasen initially claimed that he didn't see the problem. The comments mostly revolved around topics like 'how it works', 'how it operates in other OSes', 'how to measure it objectively', 'whether settings are needed', and 'what could be changed'. However, they accumulated to such an extent that the maintainer felt the bug report lost its purpose as a report of an existing issue and turned into a discussion forum. As a result, the bug report was closed without any changes to the code.
