At the end of last year that BioWare was fully reworking the unsuccessful multiplayer role-playing action game . This has now been officially confirmed.

BioWare and Electronic Arts want to give Anthem a second chance — just like Square Enix did with Final Fantasy XIV. The latter was heavily criticized by players and the media for its low quality and was shut down after two years. Then Square Enix decided to relaunch it, and now Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is one of the most popular MMORPGs.

As for Anthem, BioWare stated in an announcement that the team has been working for the past year to improve the game's stability, performance, and overall quality, as well as to release three seasons of content. However, this was still not enough to satisfy users, as the project has many issues, ranging from the loot system to a lack of meaningful endgame.

"We acknowledge that a significant amount of foundational work still needs to be done to unlock the game's full potential, and this may require a more substantial rethinking than just an update or expansion, — BioWare. — In the coming months, we will focus on a more long-term redesign of the game, specifically working to rebuild the core gameplay loop with clear objectives, motivating challenges, and progression with meaningful rewards — while maintaining the enjoyment of flying and combat in a vast sci-fi fantasy setting."
The current version of Anthem will continue to operate. The developer promises to hold events, update the shop, and repeat seasonal activities and Cataclysm content. The first event will be the celebration of Anthem's anniversary at the end of the month.

Anthem is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
