A post by Canonical's product manager, Riza Davis, has appeared on the Ubuntu distribution site, discussing the end of support for the Windows 7 operating system.
In his post, Davis notes that millions of Windows 7 users now have two paths to secure themselves and their data after Microsoft has ceased support for this operating system. The first path is to install Windows 10. However, this route involves significant financial costs, as in addition to purchasing a license, the latest operating system from Microsoft will likely require hardware upgrades and even the purchase of a new computer.
The second path is to install one of the Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, which does not require any additional costs.
In Ubuntu, users will find familiar applications such as Google Chrome, Spotify, WordPress, Blender, and even Skype from Microsoft, allowing them to continue using their computers in a familiar way without any issues. Thousands of other programs are available through the application center.
Ubuntu allows users to play many popular games such as Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hitman, and Dota. However, unfortunately, a number of games are still not available. At the same time, the situation is improving every day.
