The news that the release of CentOS 8.0 has once again been postponed indefinitely went largely unnoticed by the community. Information about this appeared in the Updates section on the CentOS wiki page dedicated to the release of version eight.
The message states that work on the already completed (again, according to the wiki) release of CentOS 8.0 is being delayed due to the preparation of RHEL 7.7. Since the 7.x branch is used by a larger part of the community, this release will be prioritized, with CentOS 8.0 to follow afterward.
It is worth adding that Oracle rebuilt Enterprise Linux back in July.
