Lenovo has introduced its own external graphics card box. The new product, named Legion BoostStation eGPU, is being showcased in Las Vegas, Nevada at CES 2020.
The device, made of aluminum, measures 365 × 172 × 212 mm. It can accommodate any modern dual-slot graphics card with a length of up to 300 mm.
Moreover, the box can additionally house one 2.5/3.5-inch storage drive with a SATA interface and two M.2 PCIe SSD modules. Thus, the new product will also function as an external storage device, not just an external graphics card.
The connection to the computer is facilitated by a Thunderbolt 3 interface. Additionally, the device features a network Ethernet port, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI connector.
Powering the device is a built-in 500W power supply. The product weighs approximately 8.5 kg.
The Legion BoostStation eGPU will be available for sale in May at an estimated price of $250.
