"Mour. Utopia" was not an easy game, and the new "Mour" (released worldwide as Pathologic 2) is no different from its predecessor in this regard. According to the developers, they aimed to offer a "heavy, exhausting, bone-grinding" game, which many people enjoyed for that reason. However, some players would like to simplify the gameplay at least a little, and in the coming weeks, they will be able to do so.

In a post on the developers shared three principles that underpin the gameplay balance of "Mour." They want players to constantly be on the brink of death, yet always able to escape tough situations, and for them to sometimes act "incorrectly" and sacrifice interesting narrative moments for the sake of survival.

However, if you don't fully agree with any of these principles, a slider will be added to the game in two or three weeks, allowing you to adjust the difficulty level and tailor the gameplay to your liking. It’s not yet specified what exactly it will control or how much it will alter the balance and mechanics, but the creators do not recommend maxing out the slider to make the game too easy.

"'Mour' should be challenging to the point of being bearable—otherwise, the entire effect is lost. We acknowledge that this threshold is different for everyone, but we strongly advise against making it easy," they explain. "But we like the idea of giving you this freedom—and this responsibility: achieving success for those who do not use the slider and complete the game at the intended difficulty will be even more vivid and authentic."
