In December of last year, Microsoft announced that it would allow all developers to create extensions, and since then, their number in Edge has been steadily increasing.
Among the most popular plugins, one can highlight ad blockers, grammar checkers, modules for YouTube, Reddit, and many others. Various modules for changing wallpapers on the browser's home page should also be mentioned.
It is worth noting that in Redmond, they are actively developing their new web browser. Recently, there was built-in mini-game designed to entertain users if the Internet is turned off.
Moreover, the browser has a system for protecting against unwanted downloads. Files identified as potentially dangerous by the SmartScreen module from Microsoft Defender will not be downloaded to the computer. This feature is available in Microsoft Edge version 80.0.338.0 or later, but it needs to be activated manually. It may be enabled by default in the future.
