The ability to switch cameras in Cloudpunk is currently in testing. To try out the feature, you'll need to switch to the game's beta version via its properties in the Steam library.
The transition from third to first person is completely and happens on the fly. According to Dieckmann, despite the modesty of the new feature, this mode makes Cloudpunk feel like a completely 'new game.'
"We had to make adjustments to the interface scaling, input functions, and so on, but the level design remained unchanged for both cameras.
