A new version of the actively developed XMPP client fork has been quietly and unobtrusively released. Conversations – Conversations Classic.
Changes from the previous version
- Synchronization with the upstream project has been completed (except for the new UI).
- The application settings have been redesigned and structured.
- The ability to set wallpapers for each chat as well as globally has been added.
- Multiple improvements related to message replies have been made (XEP-0461).
- A 'notifications throttling' feature has been added to avoid receiving more than 1 notification in N time.
- A slider for navigating between open chats and all contacts has been added (optional).
- A setting for displaying avatars has been added – you can now choose between square, rounded, and oval avatars. Let’s put an end to the war of different markers!
- Work has begun on restoring OTR (Off-the-Record Encryption) as 'Secret Chats' with a separate history.
- Original names of attachments are now used instead of randomly generated hashes.
- Now a long tap on an attachment allows saving the file to Downloads.
- You can now send images without compression by selecting to send the file instead of the image (as done in Telegram).
Improvements in group chats (MUC)
- A quick access to the list of participants has been added.
- The MUC header (subject) is now displayed as a pinned message, with the option to hide it.
- The display of nicknames for those participants who are in the roster has been corrected.
- The participant's name is now displayed in message replies.
