The email client Convey has been released, continuing the development of the Geary project, whose new versions have not been published since May 2024. The most notable difference from Geary is the transition to using GTK4 and libadwaita libraries. The code is written in Vala and is distributed under the LGPL license.
Among the changes:
- The Microsoft Graph backend has been added for working with Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts.
- The ability to create, rename, and delete folders from the sidebar has been provided, as well as the creation of nested folders through the context menu.
- The code for autocompleting entered addresses has been redesigned.
- Plugins have been transitioned to use libpeas-2, gcr-4, and gck-2.
- The libcanberra and gsound libraries have been replaced with GStreamer for playing notification sounds.
- Navigation through panels using the keyboard is now possible.
- Icons have been updated.
- An 'All Inboxes' mode has been added to show incoming messages for all accounts.
