Just yesterday, a new version of the Deepin distribution, developed based on Debian and utilizing the namesake DE, was quietly released. This version is based on the Debian 10.5 codebase.

Significantly:

• Introduced a new environment design, featuring new icons, smooth animations, rounded corners, as well as a task overview screen..

• A new design installer has been implemented. It is also possible to install proprietary drivers for Nvidia graphics cards directly during the OS installation, along with two disk partitioning modes: fully manual and automatic with full encryption of all partitions.

• Improved fingerprint recognition support. You can now log in and even gain superuser privileges using your fingerprint.

• In the application manager, added there's one-click package filtering and updates.

• You can choose the kernel during installation: either 5.4 LTS or the stable 5.7.

• And much more, including fixes for unjustifiably high CPU usage while viewing videos or images.
