The developers of the Artix Linux distribution have introduced experimental builds transitioned to the use of XLibre, a fork of the X.Org Server. Artix Linux is based on the Arch Linux package base and is notable for using openrc, runit, dinit, and s6 as system managers instead of systemd, offering users a choice. XLibre builds have been created with Xfce, Cinnamon, and MATE desktops, sized at 2 GB, along with a full build of 4.6 GB. Soon, XLibre is expected to be included in the main builds of the distribution. Users of existing Artix Linux installations can switch to XLibre by installing the xlibre-xserver package and the necessary xlibre-xf86-* drivers from the 'galaxy-gremlins' repository.
