Testing the beta version of the Fedora 31 distribution. The beta release marks the transition to the final testing stage, during which only critical bug fixes are allowed. Release is scheduled for October 22 or 29. The release covers , Fedora Server, Fedora Silverblue, and Live images provided in the form of with desktop environments KDE Plasma 5, Xfce, MATE, Cinnamon, LXDE, and LXQt. The builds are prepared for x86_64, ARM (Raspberry Pi 2 and 3), ARM64 (AArch64), and Power architectures.
The most notable in Fedora 31:
- The GNOME desktop has been updated to the release with support for grouping application icons into folders and a new wallpaper selection panel;

Within the development cycle of Fedora 31, the focus is on applying PipeWire for screen sharing in Wayland-based environments, including using the Miracast protocol.
- Unprivileged programs can send ICMP Echo packets (ping), thanks to the sysctl setting "net.ipv4.ping_group_range" for the entire range of groups (for all processes);
- The buildroot is a stripped-down version of the GDB debugger (without support for XML, Python, and syntax highlighting);
- An image for EFI (grubx64.efi from grub2-efi-x64) are missing from the basic set
