According to StatCounter, which monitors global web browser usage statistics, the share of Linux distributions in the USA (5.03%) and Germany (5.47%) has surpassed the 5% mark for the first time. This data was collected from a counter placed on 1.5 million websites.
In India, the share of Linux has decreased to 8.77% (down from 17.25% last September). The global share of Linux is estimated at 4.1% (its peak value of 4.48% was reached last September, after which there has been a decline). Since September 2024, the popularity of the ChromeOS operating system has also been declining, with its global share dropping from 2.25% to 1.25%, and its share in the USA falling from 5.53% to 2.71%.
