The release of the integrated development environment Apache NetBeans 20 has been presented, which supports programming languages Java SE, Java EE, PHP, C/C++, JavaScript, Rust, and Groovy. Pre-built packages are available for Linux (snap, flatpak), Windows, and macOS.

- The version control interface package jgit has been updated to version 6.7.0.
- Expanded capabilities related to the use of servers LSP (Language Server Protocol).
- In the editor, support for checkbox toggles has been implemented in the Markdown layout preview.
- Validation has been enabled, and code completion has been implemented for XML documents without the schemaLocation field.
- The FlatLaf theme engine has been updated to version 3.2. On the Linux platform, window decoration on the client side has been included in FlatLaf.
