The release of the Enlightenment window manager 0.24 has taken place, known for its impressive appearance while consuming minimal computing resources based on EFL.
The announced improvements include:
- A new screenshot module with editing and cropping features.
- Multiple setuid utilities have been consolidated into one.
- Monitor brightness adjustment is done through (lib)ddctil.
- The size of thumbnails in EFM has been increased to 256Ã256 by default.
- Improved error handling in the guru meditation.
- Seamless restart with fading effects without artifacts.
- Desktop wallpaper import creates versions in several resolutions for better efficiency.
- Using malloc_trim to reduce memory consumption.
- Restarts are now handled using enlightenment_start.
- The pointer is locked to the screen in X to prevent the cursor from falling off the edges.
