For every team, there are regular events, and then there are those for which you prepare especially hard. For us at Reksoft, this is the Software Engineering Conference Russia or SECR, which will take place on November 14-15 in St. Petersburg.
For us, this is not just a gathering of developers, team leads, architects, designers, and testers, but practically a home away from home, that same atmosphere of our offices in St. Petersburg, Voronezh, and Rostov-on-Don — what we breathe. Only here will the office space expand, and we can communicate with colleagues from different parts of the country. According to the latest estimates, there will be more than 700 specialists from various fields here. SECR is a great place to learn the latest methodologies, ideas, and development trends. We are looking forward to interaction, a special atmosphere, cozy coffee breaks, lunches, and a party.
So, our preparation for SECR began with our colleague, Zurab Bely, , team lead at Reksoft,, joining the program committee. Of the 158 presentations submitted to the committee, 100 were selected. Four of them are being prepared by Reksoft's team from Voronezh! Above is a photo of these wonderful people.

So, on the first day, November 14 at 15:45, in the DevOps track, the very same person will speak, Zurab Bely (he's in the center of the photo). His presentation, ‘How We Overhauled an Engine Without Stopping the Car’ — is the story of Reksoft's project for S7 Airlines. From his words, you can expect a tale of how we rewrote ancient code using new technologies, moved away from a commercial CMS, and did everything to avoid getting bogged down in code during the entire transition period, and most importantly, the client was satisfied. Next, we smoothly transition to 17:50 in the Education track.Here, our colleague, Olga Savchenko,, HR manager at Reksoft, will share detailed information about ‘Internships in IT Companies: How to Organize Them and Achieve Maximum Efficiency with Minimal Costs’Olga will share real experiences about what works and what doesn't regarding internships. All the nuances of organizing an internship have been tested at the Reksoft regional development center with students from Voronezh State University. Spoiler: if you're looking for free work and PR – it won't be effective. However, if you need new talent for the team – come to the talk, we'll present it in the best way.
Now … here's the problem … we have two awesome talks scheduled at the same time …. In the hall of the Education track at 18:30, again Zurab Bely one of the most anticipated talks of the event titled “Is There Life After Senior?”. Many developers, from juniors to seniors, see only one path for their development — management. They plan to transition into project managers or become technical leads. But the IT field is much broader, and there are many more development options available. Growth can happen not just by acquiring new skills, but also by improving existing ones. This will be interesting not only for those just starting their careers, but also for experienced developers who are still uncertain about their future or simply tired of coding.
And, one more unusual presentation on November 14 at 18:30 from Sergey Pushkin, a Java developer at Reksoft, (he's on the right in the top photo) on the topic “Life Without ctrl Z and Losing Focus at Work”. Do you want to break the Groundhog Day cycle and learn how to hack your focus? How can you escape the routine and stress using just a few mindful meditation practices? Meditation is well-suited for this purpose. It helps develop concentration, cope with stress, and break free from the cycle of routine. Sergey will discuss available practices and exercises, their benefits, how they impact work, and debunk myths about meditation.
