The Apache Foundation presented its report for the 2021 financial year (from May 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021). The total assets for the reporting period were $4 million, which is $500,000 more than in the 2020 financial year. Annual revenue reached $3 million, nearly $800,000 more than last year. At the same time, expenses decreased from $2.5 million to $1.6 million. The equity increased by $1.4 million over the year, totaling $3.6 million. Most of the funds came from sponsors — currently, there are 9 platinum sponsors (down from 10 last year), 10 gold sponsors (up from 9), 8 silver sponsors (down from 11), and 30 bronze sponsors (up from 25), as well as 30 targeted project sponsors (up from 25) and 630 individual sponsors (up from 500).

- The total estimated cost of developing all Apache projects from scratch is $22 billion, calculated using the COCOMO 2 cost estimation model.
- Development is overseen by more than 8,200 committers (up from 7,700 last year). Over the year, 3,058 committers contributed to development, making 258,860 changes affecting more than 134 million lines of code.
- The codebase of all Apache projects consists of over 227 million lines of code hosted in more than 1,400 git repositories.
- Under the auspices of the Apache Foundation, 351 projects are being developed (up from 339 last year), of which 316 are active, while 35 are under incubation review. Over the year, 14 projects were moved out of the incubator.
