On November 7, 2020, the release of the free font editor took place FontForge dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the project, originally named PfaEdit.
The author of the project is George W. Williams, who until 2012 was the chief (and almost the only) developer.
The binary packages for the release FontForge 20th Anniversary Edition (also known as FontForge (20201107) come with a special splash screen in honor of the anniversary.
The most significant change in the release is the final transition of the Python Scripting API with Python 2 to Python 3.
