fooyin («foo» from «foobar» and the Chinese «音 (yīn)» – «sound». It also plays on «福音 (fúyīn)» – «good news») is an audio player styled after Foobar2000, written in C++ using the Qt6 framework. Currently, it is natively available only on Linux. The player is distributed under the GNU GPL 3 license.
fooyin offers a wide range of customizable options for managing and playing your music collection. It can be extended with plugins and the language FooScript. Format support is provided by the FFmpeg library, along with several output options, including ALSA and PipeWire.
