FreeRDP — this is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), distributed under the Apache license.
Key Changes:
- After a thorough analysis of the FreeRDP client code, a number of vulnerabilities have been addressed. multiple vulnerabilities..
- Configuration isolation has been added. Third-party client/server applications must check the new APIs freerdp_setApplicationDetails and winpr_setApplicationDetails, which allow the use of customizable space in configuration files and runtime data for each application.
- For developers, we have placed most APIs in [[nodiscard]], so compilers may start issuing warnings about unchecked return values. This is intentional and should encourage code cleanup. Functions where the return is optional have been omitted. Currently, these checks are automatically applied for FreeRDP builds, external projects can enable them by defining WINPR_DEFINE_ATTR_NODISCARD in their build system.
- For developers: please start testing your applications on FreeRDP builds with the -DWITHOUT_FREERDP_3x_DEPRECATED=ON option to ensure that you are not using APIs that will soon be removed.
- The client based on the SDL library has received a significant update: multi-monitor modes and high-resolution support have been greatly improved.
