🥇GNU C Library v2.30

The new version of the system library glibc – 2.30 has been released.

Some updates:

Character encoding, information about character types, and transliteration tables have been updated and now support Unicode version 12.1.0.
The dynamic linker now accepts the —preload argument for preloading objects in addition to the LD_PRELOAD environment variable.
A new function twalk_r has been added. It is similar to the existing twalk function, but it can pass an additional argument to the callback function.
Functions getdents64, gettid, and tgkill have been added in Linux.
Functions malloc, calloc, realloc, reallocarray, valloc, pvalloc, memalign, and posix_memalign now do not work with objects larger than PTRDIFF_MAX. This change was made to prevent overflow of type ptrdiff_t.
New functions pthread_cond_clockwait, pthread_mutex_clocklock, pthread_rwlock_clockrdlock, pthread_rwlock_clockwrlock, and sem_clockwait have been added. They are equivalent to their timed counterparts but can also accept a clockid_t parameter to specify the time to wait. All functions allow waiting on CLOCK_MONOTONIC and CLOCK_REALTIME. The decision on which clock to use is made during the wait (unlike pthread_condattr_setclock, which requires the clock to be chosen at initialization).
In AArch64, the GNU IFUNC call ABI recognizer has changed: old recognizers still work, while new ones can use a second argument that may be extended in the future. Currently, it contains the value AT_HWCAP2.
