On July 12, version 8.1 of ‘The Day of the Amaretto Pudding’ was released from the GNU nano text editor.
Change log:
- The idiom nano filename:linenumber is only understood when using the —colonparsing option (or set colonparsing);
- Modern key bindings (with the —modernbindings or -/ option) are not activated if the executable filename for nano starts with e, as this conflicts with the alternative Debian system;
- The newly assigned function cycle first centers the current line, then moves it to the top of the viewing area, then to the bottom. By default, it is assigned to the key combination ^L;
- The new option —listsyntaxes (or -z) outputs the names of available syntaxes.
