Took place release Godot 4.6 — a cross-platform game engine with open source.
Godot 4.6 defaults to using the Jolt physics code, which was an experimental option in version 4.4.
The new version brings significant changes to screen space (SSR), greatly enhancing reflection quality.
Another fundamental change is the introduction of LibGodot, a library that allows embedding the engine into your own applications. Native support for OpenXR 1.1 is another addition for Godot, with Direct3D 12 now used as the default rendering in Windows.
The Godot 4.6 editor features a new 'modern' theme in addition to the classic one. Documentation has also been improved in Godot 4.6, along with various enhancements to assist game developers.
