In the latest beta version of Chrome 79 support for the new WebXR API for creating VR content has been introduced. In other words, it will now be possible to transmit necessary data directly to the browser. Other Chromium-based browsers like Edge, as well as Firefox Reality and Oculus Browser, will also soon support these specifications.
In addition, a feature for adaptive icon sizes for installed PWA applications on Android has been introduced. This will allow the application icons to be tailored to the sizes typically found in the Play Store.
It is worth noting that according to analysts from StatCounter, mobile Chrome is 4% more popular worldwide in recent months. In Russia, this figure has increased even more. At the same time, the share of Safari has decreased, as well as that of Yandex Browser.
Additionally, it should be noted that recently the release version of Chrome 78 was launched, which received several enhancements. Among them are a forced dark mode, online password checking through a database of compromised accounts, and other changes. All of this is claimed to improve the browser's security.
