Earlier this month, Google Cloud accidentally deleted the account of the Australian pension fund UniSuper. After restoring UniSuper's systems and completing an internal review, the company released information aimed at clarifying the nature of the incident. According to the report, the incident affected only one client, specifically one of its services, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and only in one cloud region out of the two used by UniSuper. The client's data backups stored in Google Cloud Storage (GCS) in the same region were not impacted.
