On May 25, 2020, another update of the I2P router was released, designed to create a decentralized, anonymous, and censorship-resistant network that supports TCP and UDP and is capable of hosting services of any type. This planned update was prepared exactly three months after the last release. As always, the developers recommend updating as soon as possible, as this is the best way to ensure the safety and functionality of the network.
The new version includes the following changes and fixes:
- The source code for i2p can be downloaded via git.
- A bug in i2psnark (note: built-in torrent client) has been fixed, which caused downloads to automatically receive a BAD status after restarting i2p.
- jrobin has been replaced with RRD4J 3.5.
- Test support for ECIES-X25519-AEAD-Ratchet encryption has been enabled.
- Support for encrypted ECIES responses to lookup requests has been added to NetDB.
- TCP streaming performance has been improved by using Westwood+ congestion control.
- The editor layout in the Hidden Services Manager has been redesigned.
- The ability to change the settings of common clients for running tunnels in the Hidden Service Manager has been fixed.
- i2psnark will connect to seeds to download new comments on downloads (note: it has been possible to comment on downloads directly for a long time).
- i2psnark can now directly process .torrent files by specifying the path instead of the address when adding a download. Previously, it was necessary to place the .torrent file in a specific folder.
- Support for base32 addresses in SusiDNS.
- Jetty GzipHandler support for Jetty 9.3+ has been added for eepsites (note: sites in i2p).
