Broadcom has archived the repository with the source code of the Greenplum DB on GitHub, as well as the repositories for utilities and projects related to this DB, thereby halting collaborative open-source development with the community. Greenplum DB is a distributed edition of the open-source PostgreSQL DB, optimized for executing analytical queries over large datasets (Data Warehouse). According to Arenadata, the cessation of public development of Greenplum will not negatively affect the development of Arenadata DB, as the company was prepared for such an outcome and has begun to support its fork (previously, developers from Arenadata contributed changes to the main collaborative project and were among its most active participants).
