Mozilla has reassured users that it does not intend to remove the fox image from the Firefox logo. In recent days, misinformation about the disappearance of the fox from the Firefox logo has been actively discussed online, which has led to the creation of memes and outrage.
The Firefox logos have not changed since 2019, and the logo without the fox, which is presented in discussions as the new Firefox logo, is actually an old general logo that encompasses not just Firefox but the entire family of products related to the browser. The Firefox browser logo remains the same and features the fox image (in the image below, the active logo is shown in the center of the second row, and to its right is the general logo for all products).
To confirm their commitment to the fox, the Mozilla developers replaced the logo of the Firefox night builds with a special version of the old logo featuring a dog’s face from one of the memes.
