LibreELEC is a minimal operating system based on Linux that serves as a platform for the Kodi media center. LibreELEC runs on multiple hardware architectures and can operate on both desktop computers and single-board computers with ARM processors.
LibreELEC 9.2.0 enhances driver support for web cameras, operates on Raspberry Pi 4, and adds additional firmware update support. This release is based on Kodi v18.5 and includes numerous changes and improvements for the user experience, along with a complete overhaul of the core OS to enhance stability and expand hardware support compared to version 9.0.
Changes since the last beta release:
- Driver support for web cameras; improvements for RPi4;
- A firmware update program has been added for RPi4.
Change for Raspberry Pi 4:
With LE 9.1.002 and later versions, it is necessary to add ‘hdmi_enable_4kp60 = 1’ to the .txt configuration if you want to use the 4K output on RPi4;
In this release, the playback behavior at 1080p and overall performance on Raspberry Pi 4B are on par with the previous 3B / Model 3B+, except for HEVC media, which is now hardware-decoded and significantly improved.
