After several months of development, LineageOS 23.2 has been released, based on Android 16 QPR2. As Google has shifted to a 6-month update cycle, LineageOS will follow suit, except for security patches, which will be released monthly.
Among the new features are Material 3 Expressive and some applications redesigned by the Lineage team: Twelve, ExactCalculator, and Deskclock. The Updater has also been updated, but the changes are not included in this release.
After 7 years with Lineage and 5 years with Cyanogen Mod, Rasheed has left the project. He is succeeded by Nolen Johnson (npjohnson).
Documentation for using generic targets with Android Studio has also been written. Additionally, these can be used to build GSI for mobile devices, although there will not be official builds — they will need to be built manually. Emulator targets can be found in lineage_sdk_$arch, while GSI is located in lineage_gsi_$arch. Experimental targets for QEMU have also been created, and support for Android TV and Android Automotive has been added.
