The release of the Live distribution grml 2022.11 based on Debian GNU/Linux has been presented. The distribution positions itself as a tool for system administrators for data recovery after failures. The standard version uses the Fluxbox window manager.
Key changes in the new version:
- Packages have been synchronized with the Debian Testing repository;
- The live system has been moved to the /usr partition (the /bin, /sbin, and /lib* directories are symbolic links to the corresponding directories inside /usr);
- Updated versions of key packages: Linux 6.0, Perl 5.36, Python 3.10, Ruby 3.0;
- Memtest86+ 6 with UEFI support has been integrated into the Live build;
- Support for ZFS has been added;
- dbus installation is provided by default.
